The project site of Tanyard Basin is located within an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, harbouring habitats of broadleaf woodland, grassland meadows and undisturbed wetlands. It was also once home to the former Wey and Arun Canal that linked the South Coast of England with London during the 19th century.
My proposal aimed to enhance, restore and secure the serene, engaging and timeless landscape that reunites the relationship of these two components; to creating a self sustaining and varied habitat that requiring minimal intervention, while promoting public access, enjoyment and education.
